Hello everyone!! I’ve missed you guys. This one is short, but I hope you enjoy!!
I have two weeks left.
Two weeks. (Actually 11 days, but whose counting?)
Two weeks from now I will be a highschool graduate. It’s honestly mind blowing to me and I am beyond excited.
But, with exictement also comes fear. I’ll admit- I’m scared. Scared to leave home, scared to meet new people, and scared of many more things- predicatble and unpredicatable.
And with that mindset, I prayed on them. And as I sat and prayed over my new journey in college and being semi-independent from my mom and dad’s ever so watchful eye, God led me to Joshua- where He showed me these words.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” –Joshua 1:9 ESV
And there it was- my assurance. See, in the text Moses had died and left a young Joshua in charge. I can imagine Joshua wondering many things: how would he be able to lead a people, how could he do it, and how would God provide. But God did provide and Joshua was ok.
And by using this verse in Joshua, God showed me that I would be ok too. Not only me- but others too.
You see, people experience new beginings all the time. A person could start a new job, a new relationship, or transfer to a new school. And yet although each scenario I just named is different- they still apply to the verse up above.
God has called each and everyone one of His children to be strong and courageous. For we know that God has not given us the spirit of fear but of a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7). With that being said, God has already given us the strength and courage to face new challenges. And He has already given us the peace to navigate through them. Just like He was with Joshua, so will He be with us.
But, that’s not the part that really intrigued me. No, it was the “for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” part that made me joyful. It made me joyful because I now knew that God would be there with me when I struggle in math, meet new people, and when I face some good and bad things.
And the same is for you. God will be with you when you face that new job, enter a new relationship, and transfer to that new school. God is always with us not matter where life may take us. He is there- forever and always.
I only ask that you be strong and courageous. And always enjoy life’s journeys.
With love, strength, and courage,
Malaysia 🙂
