Happy New Year’s y’all! Before this gets underway, I wish blessings to all in 2017!!
For New Years, I saw a lot of posts about people “falling back”. They were falling back from ememies, friends, and even family. Falling back has been a major New Years resolution. And I’ve decided to fall back also.
But, I’m falling back from myself. How you may ask? Well, check out the verse below:
” He must become greater; I must become less.” — John 3:30
Lately this verse has taken on a whole new meaning to me. In my latest posts I’ve talked about humbling yourself and accepting where you are. But for the last week, I’ve also been truly realizing that I must become less.
Now, I’m not saying that I have to think less of myself. But I’m just letting God become more prevalent in my life. Especially as we step into a new year. He’s gotta be numero uno in all things this year.
I decided this on my own free will, and I know that I’ve made the right chioce.
I want God to guide me into my destiny. I want Him to use me, as He would have it. Even if the going gets tough- God must lead me. This also requires sacrifice of my own will. Jesus knew this best and speaks on it below:
“Father if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” — Luke 22:42
The Savior spoke these words in the Garden of Gethsemane, on the night in which he was betrayed. This verse really shows the humanness of Jesus, because even He had a hard time following the will of the Father.
But in the text above, Jesus submitted to the Father’s plan for his life. And this is how we should be also. We should pray the same exact thing that Jesus did: Thy will be done.
I get it , though. It is hard to pray this prayer sometimes, because what we want, is sometimes not what the Lord wants. Our will sometimes does not line up with the will of God. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
But praying “Thy will be done’, will autimatically align you with His will.
With prayer and faith, becoming less will get easier. And you will become more in the process.
So, Happy New Years to all. And good luck on your resolutions! Blessings to all.
With love and peace,
Malaysia
