Hey y’all. So before I begin, I’d like to update you on my progress. I’m doing a lot better, but I still have a long way to go. But I know that God has me, forever and ever. This is short and sweet, but I hope you guys enjoy.
“For everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Luke 14:11
Reading this verse always makes me ask myself this question: Do I need to be humbled?
And the answer is yes. Always yes. Because the moment I think highly of myself, is when God will knock me down.
And I don’t know about you all, but I don’t like to be knocked down.
But God’s way of “knocking us down”, is actually conviction. He wants you to know that He loves you way too much for you to be prideful and exalting of yourself.
And when He’s humbling you, He’s actually teaching you a valuable lesson that’s important in walking with Him, and that is trusting in Him.
“Fools find no pleasure in understanding, but delight in airing their own opinions.” Proverbs 18:2
You see, Proverbs 18:2, sums it up. When we people exalt ourselves–bad things begin to happen. And when I say bad things…..I mean it. You begin to loose sight of everything. Words become slurred. Vision gets blurry. You loose who you are in Christ when you become prideful.
Trust me, I know because I’ve experienced it. God stopped me dead in my tracks and let me know that what I was doing, wasn’t apart of His plan for me. He then begin to clean me up. It was (and still is) a slow process, but the results are worth it.
Everyday I ask Him to humble me, always. Because I don’t ever want to loose sight of his plan for me. And His plan for me is more important than some random pride that may pop up.
And the Holy Spirit always tells me this: Humble yourself, Kid. And I try to always do.
With Love,
Malaysia
