He Will Provide for You

Last weekend I moved back to college from summer break. I’d been home for a good while, and I was definitely ready to see my friends- and to have some young adult freedom.

So when the day finally came, I was beyond excited to get in my car and go. However, I wasn’t driving alone.

My stepdad (who I call “Dad”) was in the car ahead of me, leading the way. After we’d filled our tanks for the ride, we had to pull out onto the highway, which was relatively busy for a Saturday morning.

I couldn’t see the path clearly from my car. Yet, when my Dad moved his car- I moved mine too. I immediately knew that my Dad had made sure that the path was clear so that I could safely follow him.

And for that, I was grateful. With him being cautious, we made it safely to our desired destination. And I happily began my third year of my undergraduate studies.

The same way my earthly Dad was cautious with me, so is our Heavenly Father patient and cautious when leading us.

You see, our relationship with God is a lot like going on a long journey. Sometimes the way is steep and hard, and other times the journey is smooth and pleasant.

But either way- as long as we allow Him to lead the way– we will reach the destination He has set out for us. Let’s check this out in the verses below:

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.
The Lord has made everything for its purpose” -Proverbs 16:3-4a ESV

Solomon wrote the verses above, and he knew exactly what he was talking about. He knew from his own personal relationship with God, that committing your way to God is the only way to go. This speaks volumes: even Solomon, the wisest dude on earth, knew that without God he’d fail.

That’s huge, right?

You see, when we commit our way to God, we are trusting in Him and in His plan. As we allow Him to lead us along the pathway, our destination is sure to be great and beyond our wildest imagination.

But, what I find to be exciting is verse four, where Solomon says that “The Lord has made everything for its purpose.” Once again, Solomon was right on time.

You see, our travels with God will get hard. There will be some steep hills we will have to climb. And sometimes, it may even seem like we’ve been going along the same pathway, seeing the same scenery- over and over again.

But take joy in knowing that even going up the high hills and traveling along the same pathway does have purpose. Even when things seem like they’re going against you- trust that God has purpose in whatever season you are in.

As you travel with God, be reminded of this other fact that is also found in Proverbs 16:

“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” -Proverbs 16:9

I love this verse so much! You see, no matter how much we plan our way, no matter how much we prioritize things, and no matter how much we try- it is really God’s plan that prevails.

To be honest with you all, this verse kinda scared me at first. I mean, I try my hardest to plan out things out- and I love checking things off in my planner. So for this verse to say that no matter how much I plan- God will have the final say, really messed with me.

But, as the Holy Spirit began to show me more insight, I understood that God’s plan will not harm me, but prosper me (Jeremiah 29:11). I began to understand that I’m not the potter- He is. I’m just the clay. (Jeremiah 18:6).

God will provide for us on this journey with Him. As long as we allow Him to shape and mold us, we will arrive to our ordained destination always on time.

So, as I close this post out, I have one question: Will you trust God where He is leading you?

Be reminded that he kept and provided for the Israelites for 40 years in the wilderness. If he can provide for them- take rest knowing that he can provide for you.

This journey we take with God is for our good! No matter how hard it may get, God is for us, never against us.

Take joy wherever you may be on the journey.

With love and enjoying God’s route,

Malaysia =).
