Hello, world!! It’s been a hot minute right? Well, I’m back. Anywho….this blog post has been on my mind for a minute. But I wasn’t going to write it until I truly felt it. So, here you go. Enjoy =)
*********
If you recall my last blog post, Elements of the Storm, I talked about the storms of life. I talked about enduring them.
But in this blog post, let’s discuss what happens after the storm. I mean, the storms of life do not last always. The storm shall- and will-pass.
When the storm passes, the view seems not at all attractive. Leaves and branches have been scattered everywhere. And it seems that everywhere you look…..everything is dull and unpretty.
Yet, even in the midst of that- you can rebuild. And rebuilding yourself in God is all that’s important.
As you rebuild from the storm, you must clear the clutter. Clear out the branches that have fallen. Clear the glass that has broken.
The branches and glass represent the things in your life that needed to be broken and branched off from your life (John 15).
You see, God allowed those things to fall so you could see that they did not belong. And by clearing them out, you are making room for the things that God wants in your life.
As you begin to clear the clutter, the area begins to look somewhat like it used to. But there is still work to do.
So as you begin to work, you end up finding things that were once lost. The storm that was in your life allowed some things to come back into view through the wind and rain.
As you find those things that were once lost, God begins to strengthen you. He’s strengthening you to show you that those things you thought were lost…really weren’t. Maybe it is a gift or relationship God is allowing to be seen in your life. No matter what it is, they were just buried under some dirt, not hidden forever. And when it was time, God allowed it to be recovered.
As you clear the clutter and begin to recover things that were lost, understand that this is a crucial moment in your walk with Christ. This rebuilding period is not to be toyed with.
You have to become selfish after the storm. You have to sit down and get real. You have to act like Nehemiah and keep rebuilding even when the temptation to stop comes along. Even when haters talk junk- keep going. And even when you get tired in your own strength, keep going knowing that God is your strength.
There is also one more thing that the rebuilding brings: light.
The light of the Sun is refreshing after the storm. You feel it so freely…so fresh….and so near. It keeps you motivated because now you can clearly see the light of day.
The sun we see represents the Son that we know. As you rebuild, look the Jesus- who is the author and perfecter of our faith.
We must not forget that He had to rebuild too. As a carpenter, His greatest work was when He laid down his life for us- on a tree that He carried.
Be encouraged during this rebuilding season. I know I am.
Know that God is for you, and He is with you.
Keep clearing clutter. Keep recovering lost things. Keep the faith.
With love for rebuilding,
Malaysia =)
